Faro is where the airport is so many people just fly in sbd move on. I am glad I chose to stay here a few days
It has an amazing old town from the 15th century with many preserved buildings housing interesting galleries. Restaurants and shops. The streets are all cobblestone which makes walking in anything but flats a challenge yet locals seem to manage. There are restaurants of every nationality you can imagine but mostly I have chosen local fish and lamb dishes with great veggies. A true Mediterranean diet (except for the famous custard tart of which I have had several )
Street and cafe scenes. Shade awnings already in place
Dinner last night was at a restaurant full of Japanese tourists. The decor was walls of tiny liquor bottles.
